Cantina Mexicana - Mississauga

If you've been here and posted a bad review I understand. But please understand that this little place is ran by the sweetest older Mexican lady who is the cook, waiter, bartender and cook al in one. If you go with a mindset to chill, relax and enjoy a margarita and some awesome guacamole then you'll have a great experience. If you have high expectations don't go.

I had written something right after our dinner - or so called snack in February. Worst service and the meal was small terrible. The Margarita was fabulous - I guess that's what we should have stuck with but we drove there.I see it's under new management. I would be afraid to try it because it's probably just the owner's friends running it now. Someone took me there back in 1990 and it was awful then. Give up! Burrito Boyz or bust!

My Fiance and I went here on Feb. 11, 2017 and left extremely disappointed. We ordered "the feast", which cost $40. We were told it would be "lots of food" and would easily feed 2 people. The feast was supposed to include a burrito, an enchilada, a quesadilla, a chimichanga, rice and beans. When the food finally arrived, we were shocked to see the tiny portions of each item. The quesadilla was a quarter the size of a regular quesadilla, the burrito only had meat in it and was the same size of a spring roll. The chimichanga was even smaller! The enchilada was maybe one corn tortilla covered in salsa and a sprinkle of cheese ... no filling! There was a scoop of rice (which tasted like microwaved uncle bens) and there was a scoop of cold refried beans. Needless to say, we were VERY unhappy with the portion sizes and the overall quality of the food. Before eating it, we asked the waitress (who took 20 mins to even come to our table) why they didn't advertise that the portions were so small. She explained that they are not small portions "they are just made with small tortillas"... She then rolled her eyes and walked away. She refused to come to our table or make eye contact after that. I wish we could have seen a regular meal (which averaged $15 on the menu) to see the comparison in portion size to our $40 meal. We ended up paying the bill (which the owner threw in our face) and leaving immediately. I have never had a more horrible experience in a restaurant in my life. I warn everyone to stay away... if not for the small portion sizes and bad food then at least because of the horrible people that run this place. Literally the worst service ever.

We met our friends here for dinner. It had been a very long time since we had eaten at this Restaurant. But it's the only Mexican restaurant in Mississauga. Overall, we were disappointed with the food it was very bland and had no taste. Even the starter snack Guacamole was tasteless....gave us very little we had to scrape the dish. The place is very outdated and definitely needs an uplift.It's in a very cute village but is not keeping up with the current trends.

Birthday lunch - super large Margaritas and great Mole sauce. The food is good, but the service is not as good, so have lots of time to spare when coming here. Enjoy.
