Bidrage med feedbackNote that many of the online reviews of "five stars" are because this place is a saloon-themed bar most of the year, and is probably totally fine for that. But the cabane they host in the spring is terrible. I've now been twice- our 2016 visit was fine- we went very last minute and were happy to get in somewhere for the first seating of the day. Service was friendly enough, no major wait- food was mediocre, but the kids got to see some animals and do a pony ride, so whatever. But when we returned this year, and reserved for the 1:15 seating ("show up at 12:45," so we did,) the wait was more than an hour crammed in cheek-to-cheek in the waiting area with tons of other people, kids were miserable. Food was once again bland (think mets préparés section of Provigo; decent ham but no tourtière, no beignets, burnt/raw center potatoes, three skinny little slices of cold tarte au sucre for the table, POM sandwich bread, sausages were sliced hotdogs that had been boiling so long you could spread them on toast.) Then, after slow service of cold food and the "spectacle de danse" to cotton-eyed-joe, we go outside- and the animal section is locked up since there was "a big group this morning." No pony rides, no petting zoo, no notice. So the one benefit we were counting (and paid for) on didn't happen. Huge waste of time and money.
We're going to this sugar shack with a family. We were 12. Well, well, that's a problem with booking, but it's all right. food is excellent roasted potatoes and not boiled pleasantly surprised, but a flat food arrives warm. But it is not the fault of waitresses who are overflowed.Bravo to be able to make its roasts (toasts) on a divine wood stove as well the small attractions for children are free.
Important to mention this change because we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of service and food. animation, dance show, everything is there for a beautiful experience. tastes are not to discuss, but our family (18-20 people) has greatly appreciated all dishes and service. the only small point to improve would be the temperature of the food, a little warmer, but for what is taste, very good. Thanks to the whole team, we were very satisfied and in addition the price is adequate for this type of food, we are not exploited. note to the owners, register with your new identity on trip advisor to avoid confusion.
It starts with a waiting line to pay for his meal, yes because we have to pay before, so even if we are out of the way, for the moment no refund possible! (25cad) then when we arrived at the entrance, they made us wait 20 minutes without telling us anything while we had a reservation for 14 people. At the end of 20 minutes, there was more and more people standing in front of the intern, and the responsible for the establishment came and shouted: all outside!!!! She told us that we should wait 40 minutes, 4 times to 10 minutes. The reservation was scheduled for 1.15 p.m., I think we were able to install around 3.30 p.m. I don't remember exactly. They started to serve us, but they were missing a lot of things, they served us what was left in the kitchen, so to speak. Not much.And of all things should be done because some of us are sick, I spare you the details. We even knew that they canceled all their evening reservations.I didn't recommend that anyone go down to eat, as much for the freshness of food as for the service.
Its an original an less commercial sugar schack. it is not a ordinary restaurant so you should not evaluate this place with normal criteria. it is a family sugar schack with great original food and authentic facilities. Great atmosphere. It's a good sugar hut that's close to an original family hut. We loved food, atmosphere and rustic decor. There is a wood stove at the entrance on which we can roast bread as I did at my little grandma. the whole family loved.For the 5-star restaurant maniacs. Don't go to a hut. for lovers of sugar huts, this one is very well unlike St-Eustache's ultra commercial huts.
