Bidrage med feedbackWe ordered the Bun Bo Hue, but it turned out to be quite bland. The broth was supposed to have a deep red color, but it was light instead, which led us to believe it wouldn’t be flavorful, and we were right. We had to rely on seasonings from our own pantry to try and enhance the taste, but that barely made a difference. On a positive note, the other items we tried, like the oyster wings and cream cheese wontons, were decent, though nothing truly impressive. I’m giving it four stars for the service because the woman I spoke to on the phone was very friendly.
We were seated right away, and my waiter was a guy. As soon as we arrived, we were given menus. About three minutes later, he came over to take our order. The food was fantastic—I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, and it was delicious. I will definitely be coming back!
Tried to put the blame on me when I came in expecting one order of I think egg rolls which consisted of two in a bag, and they had made 2 bags 4 egg rolls total. I guess they had mistook my order over the phone. When I arrived, they asked me to order a specific way so there’s no mix up, and I told them that’s how I ordered, still didn’t go well. I understand mistakes happen, especially during busy times, but the attitude I faced at the counter was appalling. The lady cleaning tables had honed in on the incident and said some words in Vietnamese which I understood, but I just left store and stayed away since.
The food was decent, but it doesn’t measure up to other places I’ve tried. Unfortunately, the service was quite poor. They didn’t provide basic items like napkins unless asked, and the staff didn’t return to check if we needed anything. We had to seat ourselves and then wait about five minutes for someone to bring us the menu. The waitress seemed disengaged, almost like she didn’t want to be there. Having worked in the industry myself, I understand the importance of maintaining good customer service, regardless of personal feelings.
This is EASILY my favorite place to get Vietnamese food in the Twin cities. Their vegetable pho cannot be beat. The broth is fantastic and you actually get a good variety of vegetables. So many places just give you onions and broccoli, but not Vietnam House. At Vietnam House you get broccoli, onion, celery, cabbage, pea pods, AND carrots. ALSO, their oyster wings are beyond compare. They are sticky and garlicky and delicious without being slimy. I would sacrifice my first born for those oyster wings. 10/10 cannot recommend enough.
