I was nervous to try a new place for a special occasion. the whole experience surpassed my expectation. the drinks were amazing and well made. the marshähne were obviously made by kratzern. all the brunch dishes we ordered were well prepared, well presented and delicious. our family members of foodie were very satisfied. I should say we came at 10 o'clock as soon as they opened and the place was quite empty. the manager waited for us as well as bar-tended, so the service was also top-notch.
We tried the roasted pork, bark and shrimp tacos; the shrimp tacos were amazing. I woke another one the next morning. we'll be back soon. great waiting staff. beautiful environment. good drinks.
Our party of 4 visited a Saturday night. The restaurant was quite empty. We ordered chips, salsa and guacamole while we penetrated the menu. It took a very long time before the appetizers appeared. We found the chips completely free from salt. Salsa was served in tiny flat bowls that make it hard to dive into chips. We also had to ask for more water many times. The main courses were disappointing. While we appreciate the effort of homemade tortillas, our were extremely dry, which meant they were crumbling when wrapped around the fillings. I found it hard to believe that this was the restaurant that received Rave reviews in the local food world. Our last bill without drinks or alcohol was $90. Not recommended. Absolutely.
I've been driving this facility a few times and wondering how it was. Had a friend from the city and considering this place is decided in my hood to try it. The server was great and the food was fantastic. The owner stopped and talked to us and you could feel their enthusiasm about this place and the food they served. I'll go back soon and probably very often. Great food and good value!
The atmosphere is warm yet modern which always helps the dining experience. We had the Ropa Vieja starters which were delicious. Pulled pork over sauteed plaintains that made the dish savory and slightly sweet a really good mix. We also got a side order of rice and beans, which came with their fresh made corn tortillas. So authentic and so delicious, they were a nice compliment to the Ropa Vieja, and filled us up! The wine list is just okay, but the cocktails were creative and tasty.
