The Sheridan Room - Minneapolis

I chose this place for a vegan friend. after ordering, the waitress informed us that her menu is not *real vegan*, but it is. there are several elements on the menu with the specified 'w' and the menu even has the key that these elements are vegan. it's not okay to mislead their customers.

I’ve been here for brunch several times and previously it was great. This was the worst brunch experience I’ve had in 5-10 years anywhere. Customers at other tables were getting up frustrated and complaining loudly so clearly the experience was not just with us. Sat down at our table a little earlier than the reservation. It was about 20 minutes before they asked us for our drink order, another 20 minutes to get our drinks to us (3 **** Marys) and finally take our meal order. They were clearly overwhelmed, though there was no sense of urgency. Why seat so many tables if you can’t handle it? It was questionable if there was a chef or if someone else had to fill in. After over 80 minutes at the table, food FINALLY showed up. One of the meals, biscuits and gravy, looked so disgusting (not as anyone would ever expect it to appear) that one person at the table refused it, paid for their drink, and left. I wanted to order another drink but was worried it would show up well after I finished my meal. The rest of us were really hungry and didn’t have the luxury of not eating so ate what was served, which was, presentation-wise, poor. I’d had the hash browns before and these were not them. They looked like a burnt ramen brick. Once I got past the dried out, crunchiness of them, they were edible when drenched in ketchup but really pretty sad. At the end, the server said she appreciated our patience, but no apology from her or management for the poor service or long wait. All of my friends said they will not be going back, and sadly I have to add myself to the list as well. What went wrong, Sheridan Room? This was not an off-day, this was a total, epic failure.

Love Sheridan Room! Great neighborhood and the service is always fast, friendly and fun. I love the vinyl they play and drink specials on weekends during brunch. The only thing I wish were different is that they start serving ranch dressing as an option and the hash browns were shoestring and not my preference but if you’re into that hash brown style you’d like it!

Great location, small, rustic dining area. Poor acoustics gets very loud when the bar/restaurant fills with people. Nice selection of beers, very good food.
