Safari In Minneapolis

We had never had Somali food before, but it was fantastic! One of our favorites was the goat mandi, along with the Ke Key. The chicken mango curry was also outstanding!

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner. The location is in a shadier part of Lakr Street, so do be cautious of your surroundings. However, the food is great. The restaurant has a fast casual feel where you order at the counter and wait for your food. There is an attached banquet hall for parties. We ordered sambusas (Somali samosas), chicken cutlet, steak and rice, pasta and a wrap. Entrees average $10-$15, which is a little pricey in my opinion for the amount of food you get and the quality of the restaurant. Entrees come with a drink. Our food tastes fresh and came out within 20 minutes. I loved my steak and the cutlet was delicious. The sambusas could have been better, especially with the type of crust used. Overall, enjoyed the food. The service was pleasant. Would return.

I used to go there regularly pre- Covid. Now I’ve learned that the main owners/investors have defrauded the government by using money intended to provide meals for children, on expensive homes, travel, and cars for themselves. Almost no money went to provide meals for children, despite their claims of serving over 2000 meals a day in multiple locations. Safari is a major player in this fraud scheme. Google Safari food program fraud. Total losers!

Wow! I really wish there was a restaurant serving East African cuisine like this in Dallas. This spot was recommended by DHRR, and it truly provided a fantastic experience. We ordered the family platter, which included goat curry, jumbo steak, and chicken. The food was incredibly flavorful and enough to feed our family of five for two meals. The tea and mango juice were also part of the meal. I highly recommend this place to everyone. The wait was definitely worth it!

The food and customer service are excellent. If you adjust your prices, I assure you that you'll attract more customers. I'm giving you 5 stars for the experience!
