Tavern On The Rail - Mineral

Food was great and the atmosphere. The 3 stars is solely based on the rudness of one staff member who did not want us seated where we requested. She told waitress in front of us that she needed to wait on us they couldn't do it. The waitress we had was wonderful. We will probably not return.

First time my wife and I ate here as we moved to Louisa a coupke of years ago. We absolutely loved it. Great environment, outdoor seating, historic rural setting, great drink selection, and the food/seafood quality was something I would expect in a top tier European city. Our waitress was a local county native who was charming, kind, attentive, and prompt. We will be returning with others.

A lovely evening. Food was delicious. Don?t expect super thick steaks as these are hand cut here cooked perfectly and delicious. Sides and beverages as well as service were wonderful. Atmosphere gives you a sense of Virginia history with some original 1837 floors and other items in place. Registered on the History registry and still felt clean and appealing. Will definitely come back. Good for special occasions as well as weekly dining as reasonably priced.

Where have I been? I've been working here for years. I've been so disappointed with the service that changed since I worked here. Waitress Barbara asked us four times what we drink. Changed our order of chicken parm to Cajun Pasta and then shrimp pasta. Then we didn't give butter for our bread after we asked. When we came to the door, she gave us a nasty look and asked us why were here without reservation even thought there was only ONE table in the restaurant and they are only in summer when it was busy. Too expensive for the experience. It used to eat a really amazing place and now we will never come again.

Interesting old tavern in the mineral area.. We dined outside on the shaded terrace and enjoyed the many flowers there. Perfect for an early dinner. Temperature menu. The oysters were delicious and plump. Also good vegetarian choices and delicious desserts. The service was friendly and prompt.
