Bidrage med feedbackA local resident told me about Logan’s as I was visiting the Nature Preserve. We were in town for the annual Christmas parade and all the festivities that went along with it, especially during the sesquicentennial year (150)! We needed to dine early, since we were planning to attend the Celtic Christmas show after the parade. So we needed to finish with enough time to get across town before the streets were blocked off. I ordered their signature old fashioned, along with the blackened shrimp accompanied by sautéed squash. My wife ordered spinach artichoke dip and tomato basil soup. We were able to enjoy our meal with plenty of time left over for casual conversation with the staff, who were extremely helpful getting us out the door in time. Logan’s Place is located in a defunct bank branch on 536 E Broad St. The modern styling makes clever use of the bank’s former teller area. The kitchen is tucked away, and any noise was undetected, by me anyway. The large vault on the south end of the dining area reminds diners of the previous tenants, but now it serves as storage, and I found it amusing to watch employees struggling to open and close the huge vault door. I particularly liked my drink, which they also offer smoked. I did not partake of that option. But I’m sure it is a spectacle and quite a treat. They have a surprisingly extensive wine list, too. I highly recommend Logan’s. It was a refreshing change from the usual.
Very underwhelming. I ordered the lobster bacon grilled cheese and it tasted like greasy bread sandwich. Our server did her best to apologize and make it right, she explained it to the owner who never said a word to us. I will not be returning.
We went to Logan's on a Friday at 6pm. The parking lot was overflowing. The parking was fine when this property was a bank, but more parking is needed and it's difficult to navigate in a full sized vehicle when the stalls areas have cars and you have no where to turn around in the back.Logan's is the only fine dining option. We had planned a nice night out for two couples. We made reservations in two weeks in advance and mentioned we would like a quiet area. We were seated next to a table of 8 with 4 small kids. With the place being packed, there were no other seating options. Therefore, it wasn't enjoyable with the added noise level of being seated next to a large party with kids. I have to deduct this for atmosphere. Apparently, reservations are not seriously considered as priority here. While the food was good, it was a bit pricey compared to our favorite fine dining restaurants in Tyler and Dallas. Also, our appetizers came out at the same time as our meal and the wine was delivered to our table after we had begun our entrees. For this reason, I have to deduct for service. For the amount of time you wait for your food, you could have spent the extra 30 minutes driving on to Tyler. I hope Logan's is just experiencing growing pains and will improve soon. We will give them one more chance and I'll be glad to update my review. One thing to note, there are no indicators on the menu for gluten free items. You're dependent on your server being gluten free knowledgeable, which ours wasn't. Nor was the person who took our reservation. Because of this, I stuck with ribeye and salad with sautéed veggies. I feel this is an easy remedy to make it more inclusive for a growing gluten free society.Dietary restrictions: One thing to note, there are no indicators on the menu for gluten free items. We had the best waitress, and shame on me for not remembering her name! The food was excellent! I definitely recommend this restaurant!!
