Bidrage med feedbackThis is a fantastic pub for enjoying a meal or a drink outdoors. We had the fish and chips, and it was delicious. It’s a lovely spot on a warm weekday!
The food was quite mediocre. We ordered fish and chips and a Guinness pie. The fish tasted watery and bland, as if it had been cooked from frozen, and the pie also needed seasoning. Overall, it was a very disappointing dinner that didn't justify the cost. It's safe to say we won't be returning to this restaurant.
After waiting nearly 1.5 hours for our food, we were disappointed to find that the dishes were very average. The food seemed like it had been prepared a few days prior. We also ordered a pumpkin burger, which was soggy and lacked flavor. While the staff was friendly and helpful, asking customers to wait 1.5 hours for a meal is quite unacceptable. Although the restaurant was busy, it was far from full. If I were the owner, I would be concerned about the kitchen's efficiency, as they must be losing a significant amount of revenue each week.
Caught up with friends at the The Boat. We were made aware that meals would be 40mins…we were prepared to wait. Given we both ordered at the same time we were aghast that one meal arrived approx 30 mins ahead of the others. The fish and chips looked fresh and appealing…when the rest of the meals arrived approx 1hr after our order I was disappointed that our fish and chips was nothing like the other. Old soggie chips, very unappetising and oily fish. Understand being understaffed but that doesn’t excuse bad, overcooked meals. As a visitor I could not recommend this place for food. Their young staff were left to deal with the fall out…simply not good enough.
We have been to the boat a few times, and the food and atmosphere are always excellent. However, the service can be a bit slow, which makes ordering drinks at the bar somewhat frustrating.
