Bidrage med feedbackExcellent old fashion English pub. Food is the best for miles around. Fish is the speciality and changes week by week. Food is all home cooked and freshly prepared Phil and his wife are the owners and cooks. Brilliant pub..
We went to The Old Swan for lunch on New Year's Day. The staff greeted us warmly, seated us promptly, and served our drinks right away. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and flawless. Every request we had was met with a smile. The Old Swan is our go-to for dining, and we will definitely be returning soon.
Popped In for a relaxing Sunday roast and got exactly what we hoped for. Very friendly place with lovely food, clearly locally sourced and cooked with care. Thankyou very much we will be back asap!
Everything was perfect, from the atmosphere and staff to the seating. I will definitely be returning.
Last time I was here was 5 years ago and when deciding on a venue for a meal out with friends who lived local, we decided to go back and see if anything had changed. The welcome was friendly with staff and other customers recognising our entrance with a nod and smile and when I gave the name fo the booking, a screen was consulted and our table was quickly pointed out to us. Once seated, we had the expected 'drinks order ' taken, the menus delivered and few minutes after that it was the time to order food. No starters, Cajun Burger, Swordfish, Lamb and Salmon were our choices and when they arrived, they looked absolutely delicious. I had the swordfish steak which was so easy to slice, tasted divine with the veg, potatoes and a marinade/topping to die for. All four of us were delighted with our respective meals and service. We had sweets of Citrus tart, Treacle pudding x 2 and one Ice Cream, finishing off with coffee. A very pleasant evening only marred by staff towards the end, suddenly removing glasses, cups as each individual was finished with them and clearing the table as we were sitting having a conversation. Normal protocol of waiting till everyone in the party was finished seemed to have gone vanished leaving us with a distinct impression that our presence was no longer wanted and we were being hustled out of the door. By around 10:30 we had paid and were driving out of the car park despite the closing time of 11:00pm. A slight disappointment considering how lovely a night we had been having.
