Le Carre Rouge - Millau

Le plat du jour, fried calamari, clearly came out of a freezer. Thin rounds of calamari, covered with twice the thickness of tasteless breading the essence of industrial frozen food. You 'll have a better meal at a cafeteria.

Having been travelling in France for over 50 years, that was the worst meal I have ever been served. The food came out cold, the chips looked like they had been cooked a week before and warmed up. My advice give this restaurant a very wide birth.

I do not understand why this restaurant was highly rated on TripAdvisor. It didn't deserve the good reviews. We sat outside to avoid the bad music playing inside but got noise of passing cars and the floor looked like it hadn't been swept in weeks. There were cigarette butts and leaves galore. We were almost the only customers dining there. The other clients just came for a drink. The cocktails, on the other hand, were good. I Had a caipirinha and my husband had a mojito. The waiter was friendly enough but the food was very mediocre. I chose a chicken salad because it was supposed to be coated in sesame seeds, but I had trouble finding or tasting even one! My husband's fish was either overcooked or from the freezer or both.

Patrons are very welcoming meals, it's a real pleasure. I particularly recommend truffle omelette and foie gras. Try! You'll be conquered. value / price ratio is excellent
