Bidrage med feedbackDecided to give this place a try a while back. Hadn't been there in about 15 years. Was not impressed with 90% of the experience. The first thing we noticed was a very disturbing smell of natural gas right inside the door. We were told it was there all the time, but not coming from the building and that they don't even use natural gas. Makes me wonder what they cook with. The decor was rather humdrum and drab for such an historic location. Not in keeping at all with the era of the architecture. Wall hangings that looked as though they came from the Dollar General and a color scheme that made no decorating sense and certainly did not promote an appetite. We ordered 2 appetizers; the waitress made an error and brought us 3, which included an order meant for another table. Turned out the one we didn't order was actually quite good. The others, not so much. Their custom of placing a bottle of olive oil on the table for bread dipping (a tired custom, done in too many restaurants) kind of backfired on them as it was way past rancid. Any chef or food service person with any experience can smell rancid oil from across the room. I cringe to think how many people actually ingest this carcinogenic **** on a regular basis without even knowing it; worse, is the chef (owner) actually cooking with it???? I honestly don't even remember what I ordered as an entree at this point, which tells me it was not worth remembering. I do remember the waitress being very nice, friendly and over worked. Hopefully she now knows what rancid oil smells like! Will not be going back for another try unless I hear about new ownership, and an overhaul of the kitchen, staff and decor.
Loved the setting and the service was great! We were a party of 8 and our server managed us beautifully. The food was creative and delicious! Everyone was happy. I will say I was impressed and loved my mussels au gratin really unique and incredible flavors (although a bit too much sauce). Thanks for a good meal and a great time. Also love they sell homemade jams and fresh eggs...
A quaint country restaurant an inn in Milford Pennsylvania. Great ambience and they have live music too. The schnitzel is a must have and the steak was delicious perfectly cooked. Staff was very friendly.
Just got word that the establishment was sold. We will miss Karl Janice. Hope the new owner has the same drive as these two people. Thanks for all the excellent meals.
This was without a doubt a great find. The service was very friendly and fantastic. I did not have an empty water glass the whole night that's how good the service was. It's an inn that has a great restaurant. The place it's very very cozy has about 13 tables in one room, and a few more tables in another room five tables out doors plus a full bar. Nice place to hold a party or group gathering. They offer daily specials. We started with their flash fried calamari which was pretty good. Their Bake Mussels Au Gratin was ridiculously delicious. Large Mussels baked in a creamy, garlicky sauce covered with Gruyere cheese. I used the bread to mop up all the extra sauce and gooey cheese. We also ordered their pork belly appetizer because it was one of their specials and it was excellent. For dinner we had their Dry Aged Ribeye steak which was so tender, juicy, melt in your mouth delicious, covered with thin fried shoe string onions. We also had their broiled Salmon Florentine and Blacked Cajun Mahi Mahi Shrimp was also really good. Hands down I would have to say that they offer a great menu. On Thursday they offer an additional menu for burgers and panini sandwich's. Their burgers are really hardy and delicious. There really is so much to choose from and the food for me is always spot on. This is a place that I will definitely go to again.
