Bidrage med feedbackI had very high expectations for this place, because one evening of months ago, passing in front of the window, I had seen a video of their sautéed rice (rice to the golden egg). Passing back today I also saw in the menu the Xiao Lon bao and the San ji bao, which theoretically would be like the Xiao Lon bao, but passed to the plate. I welcome and order exactly those three things. The girls very kind and cozy interior, modern and clean. The rice comes first, I'm coming right now, but I'm disappointed. I expected so much airy and fluffy egg, actually it was pretty dry and very salty, I left half. Then come the San ji bao to the plate and ahimè are the most panosi. The pork filling is very good, but the wrap is not my type, so I leave it there and eat only the filling. Finally the Xiao Lon bao arrives, finally something good above the average. Maybe a little big, but still good. If the San ji bao had this kind of pasta, they would have been great. Still very salty, maybe a little too much. I mean, I've been a little disappointed. It's probably my fault I've raised my expectations a little too much.
We had a big group for dinner. We wanted Asian food after 2 weeks of pizzas and pastas. Service was fast, food was tasty, and price was reasonable. Their sizzling beef and fish were the highlights. We could go back every night if we could.
On our way to the bus stop after dinner, we passed by Chateau Dufan, which serves desserts such as gelato and coffee; and, being in Chinatown, of course they also serve bubble tea! My sister ordered the regular black milk tea and I ordered the taro milk tea for 3.50€ each. I wasn't the hugest fan of the black milk tea but the sweet taro milk tea was great. The usually graininess of the taro powder was missing and instead was the thick consistency of real blended taro. The tapioca bubbles weren't too bad, either. A must stop by after dinner in Milan's Chinatown!
I stayed in Chinatown for Salone, and desperately needed a place to get some breakfast and just prepare for the day. This place opens early enough, is on the way to the M5 train, and has a great staff. This is very American of me to say, as it seemed that not a lot of places did a lot of iced lattes, but the staff at Chateau Dufan were nice to enough to help me do it : (Also, speaking from very little experience in Milan, but regardless- the staff was very accommodating A shame that my days were so long, since I would have wanted to try the milk teas and their other offerings as well! There's also a restaurant part that seems to open only for lunch and dinner and seems like a very good space to sit in. They accept card!
Really nice restaurant, you eat well! excellent quality price.
