Welcome Lounge - Milan

I wondered why we liked this place. It belongs to the same people who own Family Restaurant in Davenport. They have consistently good food and they ship desserts from Chicago instead of setting themselves for frozen. It's rare. Most restaurants have done away with desserts or pastries and buy their desserts from their grocery store. These are the perfect looking desserts you see in most mid-level facilities. They've been in business for a long time and are wonderful people. Many employees have been there for years. If you expect ambience or modern interior, you will not find this here. The environment is COVID safe. But it's classic. The food is what your mother or grandmother is trying to do, but could not be perfect. You've been right for a long time. We have both this and the family restaurant on our way to rotation.

It doesn't look like much outside. But it was one of the best meals I had in the area. We made her liver and onions. So few people have it on a menu more. The best I've had for years. We had no dessert. But the owner made them in Chicago and they look fantastic!

We stopped at the Welcome Inn for breakfast. You have a very good breakfast menu. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was fresh, hot and properly prepared. The prices are what you would expect. We're going back.
