Trattoria Mibabbo - Milan

We visited in a big group for a business dinner, and really enjoyed ourselves. We had a lovely room off the main restaurant, it was warm and cozy with nice relaxed atmosphere in spite of the smart surroundings. Food was good, not outstanding but nice enough and they prepared something off menu for the vegan in the group. We’d preordered and it was a little chaotic with food coming out without explanation of what it was-not ideal for anyone with a dietary requirement. Drinks were nice too. Service was ok, more help with the food, and more attentive service for drinks would have made it better. Good option for a big group (we were around 20). And a nice option for anyone looking for a hearty Italian meal in an upscale setting.

The food here was excellent. It honestly should have been a 10/10 experience, but the service was pretty terrible and we were left for significant periods of time without any care. The menu is a little overwhelming, so we asked for recommendations. Our waiter pointed to single items without asking us anything or telling us anything about the dishes. The same thing with wine- told them we were looking for a red wine to drink with dinner and she just pointed at a single wine without any conversation beyond that. We weren't asked about sides with the steak and had to ask to add them later (from another waiter) when another table got their steak and sides. We ran out of water 15 minutes in and never were asked if we wanted more. The food took a very long time to come out. The portions are LARGE- something I feel like our waiter should have communicated when they recommended the steak. We're pretty understanding travelers, but this was disappointing for any restaurant experience, let alone one recommended by the Michelin guide. Would not recommend to a friend.

Cosy and warm atmosphere and interior. The food was excellent. We had the steak for two which was very well prepared. Good and affordable wine
