I have a gyro dinner and my wife had a souvlaki dinner both were tasty. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Overall a good dinner experience. I would try it again for sure.
TL;DR: Good food, great price! When I saw the name of this restaurant, I thought that it was going to be a counter service type of restaurant. When we walked in, we were surprised to find a full table service restaurant. We came in around 2:30PM (a weird time to eat), so there weren't that many people in there. We were seated quickly and greeted quickly. We took a look over the menu, and I realized that they have a lot more than Greek food. They have an assortment of options, from pasta, pizza, greek, sandwiches, subs, etc. So if you don't know what you're in the mood for, this is a great place to figure out what you want. Food: Gyro dinner: Of course, when I first walked in, I was craving some greek food, so I had to get it. It comes with fries and a salad. The fries are so good! The gyro itself looks like there isn't a lot of meat in it, but once you bite in, there is plenty! The garlic spread that comes on the side was AMAZING. Turkey pita wrap lunch special: Exactly what it's called, but tasted very good. Came with a side of chips Half order of special spaghetti: The half order was HUGE. It came covered in a layer of cheese, and had pepperoni in it which was a nice surprise. Also came with one huge meatball. Complimentary bread: Yum All the food was very good, and the price was even better! This place is going to be a great place to get a quick bite to eat.
Well, what can I say. Crazy Greek appeared on the cover (or inside I don 't remember of the Midlothian magazine and it sounded really good. We ordered pickup in a couple of days; I had the moussaka and my husband had the baked spaghetti. Our meals came with yeast rolls and our choice a greek salad. It was good (this was maybe June . I liked it so much we took my son there for his birthday in July. The drinks were excellent and the waitress was great, that 's as far as it goes. I ordered the moussaka again (a eggplant lasagna type dish with thin layers of eggplant, potatoes, and a Mediterranean spiced ground lamb topped with béchamel sauce , this time it was less than good and I could swear they substituted mashed potatoes for the béchamel. My husband had veal cutlet Parmesan, my son had a souvlaki plate and his wife had chicken parm. Their ratings were it was ok . I wasn 't happy on this special occasion. I ordered baklava to go (being very familiar with how the flaky crust should be etc. and was given a limp sorry looking piece of damp pastry which I left there and asked it be removed from our check. I write now because recently we decided to give crazy Greek another chance. Not going near the moussaka l had chicken parmigiana and my husband had veal parmigiana. The chicken was obviously one of those pre-breaded patties with spaghetti and sauce. Meh! My husband said his veal was tough and didn 't taste right. The rolls (or should we say 2 day old rolls were dry with a dark brown top and tough. I will say that the Greek salad was good. Three times and you 're out for crazy Greek; I 'll drive a little further down the road where I know the chicken parmigiana is delicious and a little further for some excellent Greek food !
We were told by some friends that Crazy Greek was a nice place for a meal. My wife ordered a salad with grilled chicken and thought that it was very good. I ordered the sailor sandwich and fries. Which is Pastrami, swiss cheese, and a knockwurst sandwich with grilled rye bread. I got the fries added since the waitress said that they make the best fries in town. When they came out I mentioned that they didn't look hit and fresh and she said that they aren't there normal fries. The grilled rye was the best part of my meal. They must have supply problems because they used breakfast sausage links instead of a knockwurst AND never mentioned it to me in advance. When I called my waitstaff member over, she agreed that it was odd and headed back to the kitchen. She never came back except to drop off the bill. I saw a pizza as we left and might try that but forget the rest. Staff seemed uncaring and kitchen unknowing.
Y 'all I know what you are thinking... Why in the world would I go to a Greek restaurant for breakfast?!? Answer: Because it is the perfect combination of delicious, cheap, and homemade. Proceed with confidence and thank me later. My go to here is the same each and every time: The Big Breakfast (2 scrambled eggs w/ cheese, 4 sausage links, home fries, and 2 chocolate chip pancakes) is where it 's at, and for $8.50, you can 't beat it. The portion size is huge, the home fries are AMAZING (think course chopped potatoes, pan fried with onions awesome blend of soft, firm, crispy and mushy), and they have yet to upcharge me for adding cheese to my eggs or adding chocolate chips to my pancakes. And the sausage...man, the sausage links are incredible. They are sweet and savory, and probably over two inches in circumference. They are great! My only detractor from 5 Stars is the service as much as I love this place, no one seems to be in a hurry during the breakfast hours (not the hostess, not the wait staff). Always friendly, but don 't expect an overly expedient experience.
