Bidrage med feedbackWow, just book and go! The Shearing Shed is the unique setting for the Winter guest. We had a absolutely delicious meal and great wine to go with it. The Shearing Shed is set up as a diving little cottage, with a pot belly fire, candle light and oozing rustic charm. The service is exceptional, and perfectly attentive.
Read about this ahead of our trip to KI and was intrigued - made some enquiries and booked. So glad I did. This was the most magical al fresco dining experience ever. I arrived with my elderly parents and 8 y/o son. We were personally greeted - escorted to our beautifully laid out table under a lush canopy and treated to a deliciously interesting array of dishes. My son was given a kids meal (complete with vegetables - thank you!) and allowed to climb the inner boughs while we enjoyed our lunch. The service was courteous, the food divine and the ambience unbeatable - a highlight of our holiday. For those of you who may be thinking that the price for the set menu is a bit high - believe me , that thought crossed my mind too - but for the quality you get it is great value. The only thing letting this place down is the lack of clean hospitable "bathrooms" - the ones at the beach across the road are better than the portaloo on site. But no doubt this will be addressed in due course.
Our waitress was great, helpful, attentive and professional. The food was magnificient and the wine very nice. The location is remote but its half the fun finding it. The beach location is just beautiful.
Our dining experience was simply outstanding in every way. I wish that I could give them 6 stars as it was world class! Definitely the highlight of our trip to KI. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
I can't speak more highly about our experience at Hannaford and Sachs. While staying on property, we had the opportunity to eat in both the Fig Tree and the Sheep Shearing Shed. Aside from each morsel of food being the most delicious that hit my tongue, the experiences, in both locations, were so unique, creative and steeped with history that it only left me wanting for more. The girls are so genuine and generous to share the history of the property and their love for it with all who visit. I wish I could transport myself back today for a glorious lunch in the Fig Tree.
