The Old Mill - Mid Sussex

The restaurant has a delightful new menu. Upon the recommendation of the staff, we decided to try the new starters, which included goats cheese creme brulee and beef brisket croquettes - both of which were absolutely delicious.

Once again, The Old Mill has exceeded our expectations! After being away for a few days, we decided to treat ourselves to a Sunday Roast at The Old Mill. Without a reservation, we knew we were taking a chance due to the popularity of their Sunday Roasts. Fortunately, when we arrived at 5pm, we must have missed the rush as we were warmly greeted by Megan and seated promptly. The service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. Two of us ordered the Chicken Roasts which were incredible, and the roast pork was equally impressive. Though the cauliflower cheese was sold out, we enjoyed pork crackling, pigs in blankets, and stuffing as additional sides. Surprisingly, we still had room for desserts, which were excellent quality. Overall, it was a fantastic meal served by a wonderful team at The Old Mill.

We decided to try this restaurant for a Valentine's Day lunch, as it was a new spot for us. The outdoor area with the flowing water was absolutely stunning, and we can't wait to return in warmer weather to enjoy sitting outside. We received a warm welcome and were impressed by the interior. The menu was excellent, and one of the reasons we chose this place was because my partner is picky and usually struggles to find something to eat. The menu had classic English pub dishes without being too fancy. The portion sizes and prices were perfect. The service was outstanding - the best we've experienced recently. A 10% service charge was added to the bill, but we felt it deserved more so we left a larger tip. We were given a Valentine's card game to play and entered a raffle, which was a nice touch. We will definitely be returning soon to try their Sunday roast.

It was my friends birthday and we decided to go to the Old Mill. When we arrived we were surprised to see how empty the place was, the lighting and decor is drab with cheap signage everywhere. The food was extremely underwhelming and probably straight from the freezer. The starters were ok. I had pork belly which was fatty, with cabbage and hard roasted new potatoes, weirdly served on a very small plate. My friend had a chicken burger which she said was dry as were the fries. She also had an ice cream which was fine. The young servers were very pleasant. We wanted to like our experience but we will not be going back. With a few drinks our bill was £100 (they put the service charge on the bill -unusual for a pub)

Our first time for Sunday lunch. There were 9 of us. Could not ask for more. The food was fantastic but the service was beyond. It’s been a long time since we have been so impressed on all fronts. Well done Dunnings, we will definitely be back soon.
