Ardingly Cafe - Mid Sussex

I ordered the smashed avocado and my husband got the big breakfast. The food was excellent, the staff was very friendly, and we can't wait to come back for another visit after our Sunday morning walk.

My group of 7 hikers visited this restaurant for lunch. We called ahead to let them know we were coming and were pleased to see that the tables had been rearranged to fit us all. This warm welcome was a nice surprise, and we were highly impressed with how delicious and beautifully presented the food was. It exceeded our expectations and we felt very welcomed by the staff.

Such a lovely surprise! We had tried two nearby pubs, both closed for renovations. Came upon the Café the food was absolutely delicious, totally made to order. My poached egg was even cooked twice by the chef/owner as she was unhappy with the state of the first attempt! Great baked items for desert, wonderful coffee. We will definitely visit again.

Lived in Ardingly for 29 years and never visited the cafe until today. Me and my partner visited for brunch, had “The Big One” and breakfast wrap, chai latte and latte. The he food was delicious and the two girls running the cafe were very friendly and sociable. Definitely recommend

After reading numerous positive reviews, I decided to give this local restaurant a try. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations. Despite the lack of customers when we arrived on a quiet Saturday afternoon, the staff seemed distracted and took a long time to serve us. They even got the order wrong at the table next to us. Disappointingly, they were out of avocados for the avocado smash dish I had my eye on, as well as ice cream for a milkshake. I settled for a tuna toastie, which was dry and lacking in flavor, with overly toasted bread and minimal mayo. The only saving grace was the red onion chutney. The green tea I ordered did not meet expectations either. Despite my partner enjoying his poached eggs on toast, the overall experience did not justify the high cost. The lackluster food and service do not align with the restaurant's reputation.
