Peacock Garden Cafe - Miami

My group of three friends had never been to Peacock Garden, and we reserved at this restaurant based on what looked to be a beautiful, outdoor setting and good reviews. We were not disappointed with the setting. It was lush and tropical, each outdoor table spaced for private conversation. Our only complaint was that the music was a bit louder than necessary, and we had to talk loudly across the table to hear each other. The hostess told us the music was louder inside when we inquired about it while being seated. She found us the quietest outside table available. One of my friend ordered salmon and had inquired if she could request the level of doneness. Our server assured that she could, and she ordered it cooked rare. It arrived more like medium. Our server was quick to offer to return the plate to the chef, and my friend agreed. A fresh plate with a new piece of salmon and salad arrived soon after cooked as requested. Of course she had to eat her meal after we had finished ours. However, her meal cost was removed from the menu. The restaurant was VERY busy, and there was a delay getting our first drinks because the server told us the bar was so busy. We were never offered a second drink, which would have been nice since we were finished eating while my friend was eating her returned salmon meal. I couldn’t find the server to flag down for a second glass of wine until it was too late to do so since everyone was finished their meals by that time. The salmon, when cooked properly the second time, was the best meal of our party. I had the burger and fries, fries came out limp, and burger was just ok. My other friend had the risotto which she said was good but not outstanding. When the server was around, he was excellent, but he just wasn’t around enough. Overall though, still a four star.

We had made reservations for online, and called restaurant a week prior to state an additional person old would also be coming. Once we arrived they couldn’t find the note of party of so we waiting a little until they could accommodate us, they sat us by the outdoor waiters /water /silverware station. We sat there for almost min before someone came over to ask if we wanted drinks, then another minutes until the drinks arrived by then we were starving and asked for appetizers which were brought min later then nobody came back until min later we waived a waiter to place our entree order. I. The meantime all the servers kept working in the station next to us and kept dropping plates we left over appetizer/entree collected from other patrons tables. Finally when our food came the fries were burnt, and soggy when we asked for regular ketchup we were told they only had the bbq ketchup they served. Stay away from the short rib sandwich I only ate half because it was definitely not fresh, got an a really bad upset stomach afterwards Overall extremely disappointing we gave this place a second chance since our first experience wasn’t good either, unfortunately it was a failure. The ambiance is really nice, and it’s a total shame. We went in a Thursday evening and it was not busy, there was sufficient staff covering.

Had a lovely birthday dinner. I believe our waiter may have been in training so there were a few mistakes but it did not take away from a lovely evening.

First time i visit this place and LAST. Service was the worst ever. We had to ask for bread and butter times, my friend’s food came before me when I only ordered a sandwich. Everyone’s food got cold waiting for mine to arrive. The manager was nice enough to comp of the meals but ill never return.

Overall we had a great time at Peacock. The service was a bit slow , seems there was a delay in the kitchen and with drinks as well
