Passing through Mexia late on Friday night and looking for a spot to eat. We noticed this place and the word Diner caught our eye. It was about 8pm and their were several cars in the parking lot and pickup window line. When we entered, a server immediately greeted us and made us feel welcome. We ordered our food and enjoyed the atmosphere. As our food was arriving, I noticed the restaurant was clearing out. I checked their hours on Google and realized we walked in right at closing time. When the server delivered our meal I apologized for coming in at closing time. He told us not to worry about it and appreciated our business. The burger, steak, fingers, boneless wings and fries were all extremely delicious. My wife and daughter kept talking about the ranch dressing and how it was the best they've ever had. We don't go through Mexia much, but I will be stopping here any time I do. Great dinner!

For an appetizer we had the fried jalapeño rings. They were good and spicy and served with fresh ranch.The fried catfish was mushy. Chicken fried steak was tough and not seasoned well. Mashed potatoes, fried okra and cream gravy were very good.Service was good and the staff was friendly. They could use a lesson in seasoning and tenderizing their food and it’ll be a great place to eat.

The food, service, and management was really nice. Also the owner was really respectful.

Totally awesome! Great food! Great atmosphere,great service! Will make sure to include a meal there whenever we visit kids in Dallas! Great find!
