Bidrage med feedbackFinally! Its been 2 years since I have been waiting for Japanese's Best Cheese Tart to come in the Philippines. The best cheese tart I have ever tasted. Gives me back memories of one of the countries I truly admire. Yummy!
Happy to have tried their cheese tarts... Pablo landed on our shores riding a monstrous wave of hype... People literally lined up for hours for the baked cheese tarts-- then it garnered very mixed reviews. I was able to try the matcha tart and I was not much of a fan. Then they started serving up the mini tarts and we were not too excited to go so far and line up for them. However, we were in BGC over the weekend to watch the Newsies and we got there pretty early. No line! So we decided to try it... We all got the cheese tarts, the most popular variant @ P100. I loved it! I enjoyed the gooey cheese center and the crumbly crust. I find that I enjoyed it more than Kumori's tarts and waaaay more than Lava's and Breadtalk's version. Really great snack or dessert with a light flavor! We found a winner mini tart over here!???? Not really gunning to try the other flavors though... Curious about the soft serve though!
Their cheesecakes are really good. My daughter loves the minis. I really wonder why they had such a bad rap when they opened. People complaining how expensive they are yada, yada. Chismis lang yun. Masarap sya. We love the original. Followed by the matcha. The other flavors are just ok and we really just get the original. The large cheesecakes are meh. It's too soft and is more like a panna cotta. And I don't like the crust. The premium one is good. I once got them on sale with 200 pesos off.
Finally the hype on Pablo have ended. No more long line. For me this is still the best among the cheesetart currently here in Manila. I love it fresh from the oven with oozing cheese or on a room temp with a more compact filling. Presentation-wise its the best. Love the burnt mark of its cheese and lovely packaging. Tastewise it got a bit of sweet flavor compared to the other tarts but I love it. Pricewise it was among the most expensive. Their matcha version was good but I didn't like their strawberry mallows it was a bit pabebe haha..
I can't say the same for all of their products, but their famous cheese tart was such a letdown and is not worth P500. I'm a huge fan of anything made with tangy cream cheese, but this was borderline average. It's comparable to an egg tart with a hint of cream cheese and lemon. It's not going to excite your tastebuds whatsoever. I don't recommend wasting your money on something that looks expensive, but tastes incredibly cheap. You're better off buying a whole cheesecake from Conti's for the amount of money you pay for this tiny overpriced dessert, and actually satisfy your sweet tooth.
