I wasn't very impressed. The bartenders were friendly, but some of the regulars weren't very pleasant. Be ready for some unwanted attention.

Meh. There is nothing appealing about this place besides the outdoor sign. This bar seems to change names and outdoor appearance often, but nothing inside changes. The inside is just a crappy looking dive bar and is not inviting at all. I'm not saying that this place is horrible or anything, just not great. If you are passing by and need a drink it'll get the job done.

The restaurant has a questionable atmosphere and attracts a dubious crowd. I cannot recommend it.

City Bar Metairie is a sports bar conveniently located on Veterans Boulevard, near the I-10 interstate. They have a special on steaks every Thursday. My husband and I visited and had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is relaxed, featuring a long bar with numerous TVs for sports viewing, as well as booths and high-top tables. We felt safe during our visit, with no problems concerning the patrons. The food was quite decent, and the bartenders were friendly and attentive, which suited the casual setting well. Overall, it's a straightforward sports bar with a solid Louisiana food menu. While we personally felt safe, I can't comment beyond our experience.
