Bidrage med feedbackI can't have a bad time here. Good cocktails, extensive wine list, bar food or order from the restaurant menu. Live music that involves cartridges. House Pizza is fresh and authentic... I always ask for additional Italian sausage and black olives and people coming to ask what I have.

My wife and I always seem to end up at Andrea's for lunch when errands or business brings us to Metairie during the day. The service is always excellent. The servers are professionals and dress the part. The food is always good. My wife recently had a wonderful spinach salad. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, substituting rigatoni for the spaghetti. Growing up with an Italian grandmother, I know what a good red sauce is all about. I rarely love the red sauce at most Italian restaurants. With my first taste at Andrea's I had to make my wife taste it. It was perfect! If you want to know what good red sauce is all about, this is the place.
From the moment we walked in the door for our dinner reservations, we sensed a lack of hospitality and professionalism and it went from bad to horrible. Not at all what we expected from an acclaimed Chef and restaurant which bears his name. We were seated in a large and noisy banquet room. Cold bread was brought with butter dented in its foil wrapper. The waitstaff was disorganized and apologetic. We ordered appetizers which were cold, tasteless and thrown on a plate that had dried food on it. The bisque soup was (unintentionally) cold, inedible and had a few corn kernels swimming around in it, nothing else, just a few corn kernels not sure why they landed in the soup. The Red Fish and Lasagna entrees came on hot plates with food particles seared on the plate, giving the appearance of unwashed plates. No effort by the kitchen or staff was given to ensure clean, well presented dinner plates. At these price points even on a busy or especially on a busy night, a patron expects clean plates, hot and tasty food and a well trained and professional staff. This is still a hospitality business! The entrees were a C minus at best. The Red Fish was translucent and cold on the inside. The Lasagna tasted like it was not freshly prepared. Both were consistent with our overall experience a massive disappointment. The sides were not worth mentioning. We were so disappointed with the evening, we did not want to try dessert. Our highly anticipated evening was a complete waste! I hope that this horrible experience was just a bad night at Andrea’s as it is unimaginable that the food/service we experienced is what earned this restaurant its accolades.
Our table tried a variety of dishes from across the menu, and everyone was pleased with what they got. We even had the chance to meet Chef Andrea, and when we asked him to join us for some photos, he was not only willing but also very pleasant and humorous. It speaks volumes when a head chef takes the time to greet their guests. Overall, I had a fantastic culinary experience at Andrea's, and I would definitely return. Thank you, Chef Andrea and the entire staff, for making this a wonderful and unforgettable evening for all of us!
