Good place to hangout. Beautiful selection of traditional desserts. Traditional Sicilian. One of the old bars in Messina. The quality of gelato, desserts and other foods is pretty good. Service is fast. The people who work are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are slightly higher than Othe Bars, but it is justified.

A reasonable coffee, but an excellent cannoli. A little off the beaten track, but that can be good. Nice covered outdoor seating area, the owner was friendly and the price was reasonable.

We had tea and cake in Santoro on a rainy day and they were really good.

Very disappointing... Friendly service but the waiter couldn 't provide a menu, and also spoke next to no English. Luckily for us, we refused to order blindly, and insisted on enquiring about the prices beforehand. 6 EUR for a glass of red wine, 4 EUR for a small Messina beer, and a significant 'vario ' (coperto) on top. This café blatantly overcharges its customers, especially if they 're tourists.
