Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is a hidden gem! The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The address on Trip Advisor was incorrect, but luckily Google had the right one. The restaurant is located right on the highway in Lower Nicola. It was just what you would expect from a charming small town eatery. We will definitely be returning!
After a long and rowdy camping trip in Shuswap, my friends and I decided to visit a local restaurant in Merritt. When we arrived, we all admired the beautifully decorated exterior of the restaurant. The bull skull on the roof made us feel like we were in an old black and white film. However, once inside, we were surprised by the lack of noise. There was no music playing, and the only other patrons were elderly. We sat down and placed our orders with the waitress. I ordered a build-your-own burger with all the toppings and a coffee/water. The water arrived quickly, but it tasted oddly like lettuce, which was not to my liking. However, any concerns about the water were forgotten when our food arrived shortly after. The burger I ordered, with a side salad, was huge. The salad was also quite substantial. I struggled to hold the burger with both hands and took a satisfying bite. The flavors were delicious, and I quickly devoured the burger. Moving on to the salad, I dressed it with thousand island dressing and took a bite, unleashing my inner rabbit as I ate the lettuce and tomato quickly. However, as I continued to eat, I realized that I had underestimated the portion size, and my stomach began to protest. Feeling defeated, I couldn't finish the salad, and the waitress kindly took it away. Despite this, I enjoyed the meal and the coffee was excellent. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend the restaurant. It had the best burger I've had in a long time, although the only downside was the inability of the toilet to handle my substantial offering.
When we arrived, we were early and unaware that it was the first buffet since the restaurant came under new ownership. A few locals were there enjoying their morning coffee and chatting, which was quite entertaining. The owner and chef had been busy since early morning preparing the fresh, colorful, and tasty food. There was a wide variety of options including fresh fruit, sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, and more. The food was hot, fresh, and reasonably priced, with all meats sourced locally and of excellent quality. We will definitely be returning and recommend giving this place a try. The decor is interesting and the new owner and staff are pleasant.
Very generous portions. The hamburgers are divine, but if you are a light eater, be prepared to take some of it home. There are other wonderful menu items. A real pleasure no matter what time of the day you go. I've heard its been sold...to new ownership and hope the new owners carry the same wonderful hospitality the previous owners had. Great food, brighter smile. You really feel like you are at home having a meal with friends and family. They are great for making substitutions for those on restricted diets as well. Going to miss the old crew... but looking forward to see what comes with the new owner.
Well worth the minute drive up the road. We wanted some fresh burgers and they did not disappoint. Huge portions and great environment for families
