Abuelo's - Merrillville

One word: delicious! Abuelo's is fantastic. The chef, Luis Sanchez, has his photo on the menu and proudly states that cooking is his passion and his life, which is evident in the food. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, and everything I tried was amazing. Their chips and salsa are not your typical offerings; you actually get three different salsas to enjoy. I also ordered a side of Queso Diablo, which was incredibly good—it's a cheese sauce with beef, peppers, and chiles. My shrimp tacos were flavorful, and my server was both efficient and friendly. The music was great as well; I even Shazam'd a song! I highly recommend Abuelo's!

This restaurant serves typical American and Tex-Mex cuisine in a beautifully designed setting. The service is excellent, and they offer a tasty hot sauce. Portions are quite generous. While you might pay a bit more than at an authentic dive nearby, this is definitely the better choice for a special date.

The food was absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend this restaurant. I had the pleasure of being served by the best waitress ever—huge thanks to Bambi for her outstanding service. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing, and the decor is beautiful. Overall, it's an amazing place!

Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine. I really enjoyed the variety of choices and the ambiance. The server was incredibly helpful with recommendations, and everything we had was outstanding. I intended to take a photo when the food arrived, but I couldn't resist— it looked too delicious! I give the seafood tacos a perfect 10!
