Bidrage med feedbackThis is an unpretentious local restaurant, often the haunt of engineers from Orange or EDF. Lunch is good value at €13.50, for which you get starter, main course, cheese board, choice of dessert, coffee and wine, plus soup in the winter. There is no menu, you get what is going, and you can 't necessarily tell what you will get by looking at what is served to others, as they tend to have several main course dishes on the go at any one time. (You can, of course, ask what the dish of the day is if you 're a fussy eater! Generally the food is wholesome, but it may not be to everyone 's taste. It is worth pointing out that they 'go to town ' for special events/occasions Christmas, New Year, Easter, Valentine 's Day etc and serve up a multi course feast with top class ingredients and good wines.
This is a nice restaurant in a small village near Jarnac. We were happy to find this place open for business in August and seeing locals as well as other tourists having lunch there comforted us in our choice. Good simple food. Home cooking as we say in the US. In addition a good simple house wine is included with the 4 course meal. Overall great experience of local flavors at a great price. What else does one need?
€13 buys you a four- or five-course weekday lunch, with wine and coffee. There is no menu, but if you don't like something on offer an alternative is always offered. It is not fine dining, but good honest fare.
We had a birthday meal and the meal was delicious from beginning to end. Very good reception, impeccable service, listen. I highly recommend
