Sapphire Indian Restaurant - MEREWETHER

We read the reviews and we're not disappointed - the food was delicious. Samosas - crisp & tasty. We also had a fish curry - excellent & a vegetarian dish with a creamy sauce & paneer. Also delicious, as was the cheese nan & coconut rice. The staff were very good but service of food was slow, so be aware of this. My husband ordered the chai style tea which he was disappointed with.

Bring a book, load up a movie, time will be your worst enemy when you come to sapphire. They must be raising the cattle to slaughter fresh because the wait is excruciating.

The food is great if you sit in for a meal. The serves generous and the flavours authentic. Don't order take away though - the flavours are just not the same. As a cook myself I could tell the preparation for take away was hurried.

Went there in a group for a birthday. Tried a wide variety of dishes and all were excellent. will definitely return there!!!

The best Indian in Newcastle! Delicious every dish I've tried and every time I've been the service is perfect.
