When we arrived only a handful of the tables on the terrace had been occupied by guests. From the start the young head waiter ignored our table. It took about 30 min before the waiter allowed us to place our order for wine and food. The wine arrived swiftly and was served by the young and friendly waitress. By 11:15pm that night, 3 hours after our arrival at La Maiolica we had only received our wine and starters =tasty) and no sign of the other food we ordered. All other tables around us received their orders and the general attention as you would expect from a good Restaurant. The young waitress just came to apologize for not getting our food, etc. We don’t speak much Italian and the head waiters English is very basic. Instead him teaming up with his female colleague who speaks fluent English) to explain the menu and to take our order. The head waiter rather decided to ignore and to forget about our table . We are friendly, polite and worldly individuals with well balanced expectations. We have seen and experienced much better in many other Restaurants in Italy. After 3 hours we gave up and left hungry).
I've traveled the world and this place is a find! It's a bit difficult to find but Menfi is a small town, parking on the street was easy. We enjoyed the food service and ambiance. highly recommend this restaurant.

I am so enthralled with this restaurant. The setting and ambience is quite unique. The ceiling is a dense lattice of tree branches. The waitstaff was very attentive and polite. Our food was delicious and reasonably priced. After dinner they showed us through their art gallery! Great evening out.
