Wirral Plaice - Mendip

I live about 7 miles away from the Wirral Plaice. When I first moved to my part of Somerset, I spent a long time searching for a good fish and chip shop, only to be disappointed time and time again - until I found these guys. I have been going here for almost 5 years now and they never fail to impress. The women serving are all great and always remember my name and even check in on me and my dog Barbra Streisand. Trust me, don't waste your time with any other fish and chip shop within a 10-mile radius. The fish is perfectly cooked and the chips are just like you'd expect from a traditional chip shop - every time!

I had a great experience at Peace and Love with my friends. The prices were reasonable, and the fish and chips were delicious. The atmosphere was cheerful and inviting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Never had a bad meal from here. Staff are always friendly and portions are generous. It’s not our closest chippy but happy to travel for the quality.

Returning to the area for a holiday we returned to Wirral Plaice as we remembered how good it was the year before. I'm pleased to say they have stayed as good as ever. Two large cod and chips cooked to perfection. Crispy batter on the cod was perfect. Thank you so much for keeping up your standards, and if we don't get back to you this year we will return in 2024.
