The Hunters Lodge - Mendip

This pub is fantastic, I always feel like it's my neighborhood spot even though I live 9 miles away! Don't come here expecting to get a cappuccino or chips, but you will find delicious, affordable food. They serve amazing local beers and ciders, often straight from the barrel.

This is how a pub used to be and is unique. Great beer, basic pub food, roaring fire and no TV.

Totally traditional pub. Not a revamped Into a restaurant type. Food is basic filling and good. Beers from the Barrel. No glitz no fuss. Great place to reset just sit,chat and drink in the history with your Beer.

I love the food, the restaurant is open and the staff is friendly.

This country pub is excellent and feels remote. The interior is simple and has a cozy country decor. They serve real ales on gravity and offer a variety of proper ciders. The food is hearty and includes delicious cheese and onion rolls and comforting macaroni cheese. There are two rooms, with the back room hosting local folk/Irish musicians during our visit. We wished we could have stayed longer.
