Bidrage med feedbackVery minimalist type of place, but If you want a very tasty fresh burger, hand curb fries and an awesome shake, this is your place! <br/ <br/ Staffed by young kids who have always been polite and attentive the couple of times I’ve been there. <br/ <br/ Only downside the aforementioned order in double burger format will set you back $17 and change. It’s a $5 shake, and no, they don’t put bourbon in it or anything. <br/ <br/
I read about the Sear Shack opening awhile back, but when I got to the Collierville part, my eyes glazed over and I forgot about it. Then Holly over at I Love Memphis did a write up on the new East Memphis location last week, and I paid more attention. I texted Satchel (age 14 on Saturday to begin negotiations. (I'm the blue, in case it is not obvious.
I was very impressed with this place. The interior is minimal but very clean. We approach the counter to order and the young man at the register was so polite and eager to make sure we got just what we wanted. I was taken aback. It is rare to find service this good. The menu is simply Burgers and Fries. They reportedly have great milkshakes though we didn 't try one.My companion ordered a single cheeseburger with fries. I ordered a double. Wow! You need to have a huge appetite to attempt a double. Everything about the burgers was excellent. The patties were 'Seared ' to perfection and juicy not greasy. Toppings were fresh and the house made buns will blow you away. This was the best bun I have ever had on a burger. The 'Sear Sauce ' is a tasty condiment.Fresh cut fries were so good. Crisp and not a hint of grease. The house made pickles on the condiment bar are worthy of a trip alone.
I 'm not exactly sure how long The Sear Shack has been open in Sanderlin Center in East Memphis. I try to avoid the area because of the Muddy 's Bake Shop temptation! The Sear Shack is located at 5101 Sanderlin Ave. Suite 103 in Memphis, 38117. It 's beside Purelux Nails, but it 's probably more helpful if I tell you it 's a couple doors down from Fox Hound. The decor is clean and modern. There 's plenty of seating, and the service is great. You order at the counter and they call your number when it 's ready, but don 't go on Monday. They are closed Mondays! The food includes hand-cut fries, homemade buns and fresh Angus burgers that are never frozen. Choose between a single or double patty with American cheese or without. You can also go for the Angus Bacon Burger. Here 's a view of the single burger with sear sauce on the side.Trimmings are free and include crispy onions, sear sauce (a mix of mayo and ketchup , jalapeños, red onions, pickles, lettuce and tomato (sliced VERY thinly! . You can add any of the ordinary burger fixings like mustard by the drink dispensers. Here 's a view of the double burger plus fries. You can even score a salted caramel shake with homemade caramel. Here 's the salted caramel shake. There 's only one size. They also feature a Nutella shake, but (crazy me , I 'm not a fan of Nutella. My take is that this is a good place for a special burger, shake and fries, but it 's not going to be a place I visit weekly. The food tastes great, and the service is good, but for folks like me who don 't eat fried food, there is little choice. I can get steamed veggies with my burger at Huey 's!On my first visit, I ordered a single burger and a salted caramel shake. I don 't eat a lot of sweets, but I eat even fewer fried foods, so I thought the shake would suffice. I was hungry later. And the lunch set me back about $11.I know. I know. You pay for quality. When I returned later with husband, he tried the fries, which I sampled, and he got a vanilla shake. I know! I was so shocked. Why not get the chocolate, dude? The vanilla shake was vanilla. I missed the dreamy caramel. It 's not too sweet. I don 't like overly sweet shakes, and The Sear Shack gets it right with the shake. It 's thick, but not too thick. On the second visit, I also got the double patty and it was much more greasy. Maybe it had something to do with the cook that day, but I didn 't enjoy it as much as the single. It 's better than Five Guys if for no other reason the excellent bun that doesn 't fall apart on you! However, you do get more fries at Five Guys, and the Five Guys fries are slightly better. Yet another 'however, ' The Sear Shake does have something called Cheese and Bacon Fries. Maybe? Something tells me I 'll try them one day.And what did husband say when he tried the burger? 'It reminds me of Shake Shack. ' Yep. The name is very similar too. Not saying that 's a bad thing. We need a little more New York in Memphis.
Was in the area and considered a burger and would have to say that this is by far the best I had in Memphis! The burger was perfectly cooked and the seat sauce is a must! Even if you look at the bacon cheeseries, do it anyway!
