The Corner - Memphis

Our go-to spot during filming has become TCB. We loved visiting for Happy Hour from 4 PM to 7 PM, thanks to the friendly bar staff and reasonably priced $5 wines and beers, along with complimentary bar snacks. I spent a lot of time chatting with Christian, the bartender who was there during each of my visits. Talking about high-quality service, Assistant GM Terrance regularly checked in to ensure that both guests and staff were well taken care of. He even arranged for the sister restaurant across the hall to prepare a huge salad for me, packed with fresh ingredients, since the bar menu didn’t have any options for the vegetarian crew. I truly appreciate the extra effort to make sure I had something to enjoy besides wine. Although the Peabody Hotel is surrounded by many large restaurants and bars, the prices and service at TCB really won us over.

I stopped by during happy hour for $5 wine and well cocktails. I only had one round and didn't open a tab. The drinks were decent, but the service was not up to par for a hotel bar of this caliber. After asking for the check and paying my $12 bill with a twenty, I waited a long time for my change. Eventually, I had to go to the bar to collect it myself. It seemed like the waitress was expecting an 80% tip! Be cautious.

The drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. There was no waitstaff, so all drink orders had to be placed directly at the bar, which had just one bartender on duty. Fortunately, the wait wasn't too long. We only ordered drinks, skipping food for the night. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Manhattans, while I had a Lemon Drop and a Rubber Ducky Cocktail. The Rubber Ducky was made with Malibu rum, crème de banana, pineapple juice, orange juice, and it came with an adorable little floating rubber ducky.

This place has really went downhill. My theory is that the Peabody sends the employees that they want to fire, who already have two strikes, to this bar. The sub-par service at this place is only matched by the sub-par food. See my pictures of the sliders and cheese plate I recognize that the Peabody has this place as a low-cost option but, if we 're going to have the Peabody name attached to it, You 've got to have certain standards. I would have given them only one star, but it is a nice atmosphere and a nice view out the window
