El Porton - Memphis

Best Mexican restaurant in Mmmphis! Made my order fresh to my specs with tasty and fresh ingredients. They even put it together the way I wanted instead of their usual layout. Awesome people! Great food! Nice portions! A hidden gem.

This restaurant normally has good food. however everything was freezing cold including the cheese dip that I had to microwave just to give to my child to eat. the shrimp and the vegetables in my fajitas were also cold. I also ordered Sopapilla which is normally delicious it is supposed to be a fried tortilla with cinnamon and honey and sugar on it. instead what I got is pictured below. someone thought it would be a good idea to pour really nasty chocolate sauce all over the tortilla instead of putting honey and cinnamon and sugar on it and some type of strawberry jam flavored sauce in addition to that. we cant eat this it is disgusting. my son who will eat anything sweet normally would not even touch it. I dont know what was going on tonight in their kitchen but this is not acceptable. normally their food is really good that this is very disappointing.

This is my first time toel porton the service was very good the restaurant is very clean the cabins are very private and picturesque is great for a meeting or just a group meeting. the food was delicious, that was waiting very short the waitress was right on point I didn't have to for the service to no time. I would say el porton is a place I will definitely be back. great parking felt very safe in and out. is that right?

We went to this place, because I had a voucher for a free cheese dip. at the end of our experience, however, the server said that we cannot use the free cheese-dip coupon, although it had not expired and it had no restrictions, except they cannot use it on Friday. we were there on Saturday. He accused us of dips and there was nothing we could do with it. the good is literally the whole reason why we choose this place. the host sat us pretty fast, but we waited about 20 minutes on our server. the server was always very hastened not to allow us to react to something when he appeared on the table. the food was cooked well. our drinks were mostly empty. I wouldn't be back to this place.

Children 10 and under menu $6 meal does not come with a drink. 6 years old child gets no refill. there is no discount price for the drink of a child. I didn't know until I saw that ****. drinks should come with a child's meal or at least not be calculated on the adult price. young children don't drink so much limo. I've tipped as usual. next time, I can take a part of the child drink off the tip, as I already follow and do not tap the whole tip. I don't really want to do that either because server doesn't make rules. I can only look at restaurants that are more child-friendly when I bring out a child with me. Eat tastes great! if I go through the credit card statement today, I look at el porton, hmmm, why is my fee 38.78 $ for my own and a small child, no alcohol ordered. the place was dark and I didn't wear my glasses. I have not noticed that a 18% tipp has already been added. I thought the standard is still 15%. I don't usually look at that. I will. I typed at the top of the full bill with the 18% gratuity already added in the bill, which means I also typed the top fee. I am not sure when the restaurants have decided to add the tipp for a party of less than 5 or 6 automatically. I will now be vigilant in every restaurant to check this, even if it means to pull out my eyeglasses.
