The Attic Cafe - Melbourne

This restaurant is super affordable and sometimes amazing, while other times the food is barely edible. Despite this, I keep returning because the hits outnumber the misses. The chicken pie is fantastic, but the casseroles are too salty for my taste (and I love salt). The rotating menu results in an average overall review.

I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for a late breakfast after dealing with jet lag and a night out. I would highly recommend this place, as they serve an amazing breakfast that was both comforting and fresh. I ordered a banana smoothie, which was the best I have ever had - a personal favorite of mine. The porridge was a perfect way to start my day, while my friend enjoyed the muesli just as much. The staff were incredibly friendly, making my time in Melbourne even more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in the future. Thank you to the amazing staff for a great experience.

We stumbled upon this fabulous cafe whilst looking for somewhere to have breakfast. We immediately felt welcomed by the very friendly barista. We were down in Melbourne for the recent State of Origin match and when he found this out presented our coffee with a very amusing creme on our coffee. Nice touch. The coffee was delicious. The meals were huge and fantastic value by any cities standard with a really good choice. Would love to have lunched there as the salads looked amazing. All in all, a very pleasant experience.Far better than a lot of the trendier places.

After landing on an early morning flight we were walking to our hotel, we passed The Attic and decided to stop for breakfast. It's located inside a corporate building so weren't expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised. Service was very friendly, helpful quick. The egg bacon with mushroom and spinach was a great serve size and well cooked and seasoned. OJ was freshly squeezed as ordered. Coffee was good but not exceptional. Well worth a try if you're in the area. They also seem to do a large range of salads, etc for lunches.

The staff and owner were incredibly friendly and seemed to know the names of all the regular customers. As I leisurely enjoyed my muffin, I observed the staff serving beautifully presented salads to other customers. The daily specials board caught my eye, and I made a mental note to come back for lunch. When I did return for lunch, I was impressed by the freshness and presentation of the salads. The cafe offers great coffee and delicious, fresh food at reasonable prices. I will definitely be returning for more delightful meals. Highly recommended.
