Supermaxi - Melbourne

I arrived at Supermaxi and the inside is pleasant and has nice decor. I was seated almost immediately and given a menu, I noticed very quickly how the staff weren't good at checking in on you (how you were going), I'm not saying they need to check every 5 seconds but once or even twice would be good. Me and my mother ordered a Margherita and a puttanesca. While we waited for our order my mother asked if the heater could be turned up as it was a tad chilly inside, the waiter responded with a sure but also made a very awkward, rude, sexist comment as he turned it up which both made us very uncomfortable. All the staff seemed almost annoyed we were there, everything seemed like an effort but when talking to some people coming in ordering take out they were very pleasant. The pizza however was very good. I will most likely not be returning to Supermaxi not due to the pizza but due to the staff.

Went there on Friday night. Great service and ambience. Ordered pizza as an entree to share, a seafood pasta and a dessert. Couldn't rave more about the taste of all those three items. Was encouraged to buy their 'garden fresh' salad - which we did AFTER the menu was taken. This particular salad was just pieces of lettuce with a drizzle of olive oil - cost $12 and was tasteless. The waitress asked us if we wanted parmesan cheese to which we all said yes but it never arrived. Food still tasted great though! Busy and buzzy. Just don't order the salad!

The place was easy to find, had the best time, the staff amazing, polite they are very attentive, Fun too. The food was perfect and we all enjoyed the meals. Nice and clean and the vibe was great. I will be back.

We finally booked to have dinner at Supermaxi after driving past it for so long.I had a look on line,and liked the look of the simple menu,but thought the prices of the wines were to expensive,I called to make a booking and asked about byo and was told there was a $20 corkage,I was fuming as I think that is way to much.My husband and I shared a starter a pizza and gnocchi and a dessert!!We enjoyed everything,and I think that's the best tastiest pizza I have ever had.We will be back

This restaurant was a recommendation from one of their long time customers and we were not disappointed. It is located just a bit down the road from Lygon Street, where we usually dine when we are in Melbourne. It is worth it though to come here for your fix of Italian food.We had en evening booking for a large family group. We were attended to by friendly staff right away. The menu is small with simple, Italian dishes. No Hawaiian pizza here. When the food arrives, it is generous and everyone compliments their food. My pizza with raddicio leaves is very nice and the boys are happy their simple pizzas with ham - a special request. They had no problems with another special request for a cheese free mushroom pizza and my daughter was very happy with it when it arrived. We gave the pizzas a good go on this visit and the capricciosa was reportedly very good as well. The gnocchi looked really good and was recommended.The dining room is comfortable but very sparsely decorated, in fact not decorated at all apart from the staff. A bit unusual for an Italian restaurant. You get the impression they have just moved in when they have been there for a while.
