San Telmo - Melbourne

This hidden gem of an Argentinian restaurant in a small laneway in Melbourne impressed us with its decor, furniture, interior design, open kitchen, and entrance. The service from the wait staff was top notch, the wine list was extensive, and the menu was authentically Argentinean. Our waitress was Argentinian, and we enjoyed sitting by the wall of wine bottles, even though we had to raise our voices a bit to hear each other over the bustling atmosphere. The dishes are meant for sharing, including the cured meat plate, curitzo, lamb ribs, and sirloin strips. We enjoyed a delicious meal and drinks, and left feeling satisfied with the value for money. Every dish was a winner.

My husband and I had dinner at San Telmo on April 25th (Anzac Day). We didn't have a reservation and the restaurant was full, so we decided to have a drink at the rooftop bar across the street. After a while, a table became available at San Telmo and we were seated. Our waiter, Raphael, was very welcoming and explained the menu to us, providing great recommendations. The food was top-notch and the service was impeccable. Each dish we ordered was flavorful and unique. The staff was professional and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant and wish there was a San Telmo in Sydney. Melbourne's food scene is truly impressive!

I want to write a review that is so positive that it may not be taken seriously, but I truly cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It was the best meal I have had in at least 2 years, and I dine out frequently. I would eat anything on the menu, as the meats are exceptional. Even if they charged twice as much, I would still return. Bravo to this restaurant.

The very best food is served here with the very best service from the staff. We will definitely go again and also highly recommend it to our friends and relatives.

We were lucky enough to have been recommended San Telmo. It's a hidden gem! We loved every meal we ordered. It was so hard to choose my favourite but I could not get enough of the empanadas!!
