Bidrage med feedbackThis is one of those times zomato would fail you. 3.5 for a place this good is a joke. <br/ <br/ One of the most romantic restaurants I have ever been. This is OG Italian the chefs are your classic ma and pa chefs. Just phenomenol experience. <br/ <br/ What really matters is the food. My mouth is watering 6 hours after my feed. The beef ragu gnochi was the special. 100 percent sure everything was homemade.<br/ The advacado chicken fettuccine was to die for. I tried my mates. <br/ <br/ Been gradis a couple of times. Never again. That place is a joke compared to nicks spaghetti bar. <br/ <br/ If you haven't been you really are missing out. <br/ <br/
I visited this restaurant a few months ago. It is a great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and view. The owner is very friendly and is from Italy. Nick was kind enough to introduce us and share the restaurant's story with us. Overall, the food is delicious and reasonably priced.
I had a mixed experience at this cozy, small restaurant with tight seating, especially for tall individuals. While I found the staff to be extremely rude and arrogant, I couldn't deny that the spaghetti dish I ordered was out of this world. The kitchen being visible was impressive and showed transparency. The prices were good and the overall dish was full of love and flavor. The antipasto was perfection with delicious cheeses and cracked pepper. I would recommend trying out Nicks on Lonsdale St for high-quality pasta in the CBD, just be cautious of the old, tall waiter who may come off as arrogant. My ratings would be: Staff 3, Quality 5, Service 4, Taste 8. I would consider going back if the staff were more humble.
Want to feel like you're at Nonna's? Then step right in up the beautifully worn bluestone step that must have seen thousands of hungry folk head in for comfort food. The service is friendly and efficient I love watching the owner walk around smiling and greeting patrons so genuinely thrilled to see people enjoying his hospitality. The pasta is good but I've taken to asking for a small serve as I can't eat a full main (I'm not a massive eater). If the gnocchi ragu is on offer (it's a special) grab it! Rich thick tomato based sauce and oxtail, otherwise I'm a big fan of good old fashioned bolognaise or lasagne. I'm not a big fan of the risotto.Oh and if you're having coffee (which is worth stopping in for on its own) you'll be treated to some little sugar coated homemade donuts the perfect pick me up!!Don't come here for silver service come in when you want a good serve of comfort!!
The staff were very friendly to my boss, who is a regular customer. I didn't have any complaints myself, although they didn't seem too pleased when I changed my order, but that's to be expected. The salad bar is a great concept and adds to the Italian atmosphere of the place, which is fantastic. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant.
