New School Canteen - Melbourne

Having established in the very hip and trendy areas of Fitzroy, New School Canteen offers a diverse menu that caters not only to meat-eating burger lovers, but also their vegan and vegetarian friends alike. While some components, namely the beef patty and the chicken wings, could do with some improvements, we found the burgers here undeniably tasty and satisfying, and sides like the Loaded Fries and Shakes were definitely no sideshow and proved to be equally enjoyable as well.

I visited the new school cafeteria after an event. The decor is really nice and the menu looks promising. The burger I had was excellent, with the meat cooked slightly pink and the cheese melted perfectly. I highly recommend this burger.

Tucked away in the backstreets of Fitzroy is a cafe/restaurant serving anything you could ever need as a Melbournian. Not only do they offer health conscious brunch meals but also ones if you're looking to indulge. And not only that but they have a big ass burger menu if you're looking to get just that bit phatter. This time I tried the burgers and was pretty impressed!! Not only are they gorgeous to look at but they taste great too! Keen to come back and try their brunch options next time

The service was fantastic, and the burger was excellent. The addition of the croquette made it absolutely amazing. The restaurant was nice, with a good amount of people but not crowded. I will definitely come back again, maybe in the afternoon since the portions were large. Once again, the service was top-notch.

New School Canteen is a new cafe that has a spacious, minimalist and modern design which was pleasing to the eye. The Scotch eggs were hands down the best eggs I've had. It's such a shame there were only two halves of an egg. The grilled cheesy toast that came along with it was a yummy complimentary to it too. The bacon wasn't crispy at all, instead it was pretty rock hard so it was difficult to chew on it. Staff were prompt and lovely. Their burger and fries menu looked delicious too! Would love to come back and try their other dishes.
