Kagurazaka Japanese Restaurant

There seems to be an influx of Asian food along Toorak Road and Japanese is no exception.This restaurant is one I have been to a few times now. It's consistent in its fare but nothing fantastic.I mainly come here for two reasons;1) Service - the service is friendly and attentive and food comes out usually within 10min of ordering2) Price - This would be one of the better value Japanese restaurants in this locality.The food itself is good, it's not fantastic but It's good enough to enjoy a night out with friends and combined with Sake, it makes for a fun night. Essentially you are getting what you pay for.The fish is always very fresh though.My go to dish is the Number 22 (Moriawase - sushi & sashimi).This is fresh and well presented. The dish I had last night in addition was the Number 26 (California Maki) this was delicious! Have a read of the Menu that I have uploaded.SUMMARYA good local Japanese restaurant. Japanese cuisine has never been one of my first choices so I was pleasantly surprised when we were taken to Kagurazaka by some friends. Sitting in traditional Japanese style requires a bit of agility but normal restaurant seating is also available. All the dishes were very well presented.The moreish green soybeans,deep fried tofu with bonito flakes,crumbed chicken sushi and the highly recommended grilled miso marinated salmon were the highlights. Personally seldom choosing salmon from a menu,this was a real surprise.Although I didn't pay the bill,prices seemed very reasonable for the quality of food.The friendly,efficient staff helped make this a very enjoyable evening.

I ate here a few days ago and had a simple lunch. The restaurant has two types of seating; Japanese style and western style with regular chairs and tables. We enjoyed a dish go gyoza and a mixed sushi and sashimi platter and the quality and taste was good. Pleasant service and prices were also reasonable.

On the main street, tasty food and attentive staff. Whole baby barramundi was very tasty as was all the food. Tuna sashimi and saki for me too. All good. Cash only for separate payments.

Fue la ultima cena de nuestras vacaciones en Melbourne. Muy atentos tienen mesas como si estuvieras en Japón! Los zapatos te los tienes de quitar si quieres cenar en las mesas pequeñas. El te verde con Aroz tostado, un descubrimiento. Muy rico. Por lo que respecta a la comida. El Miso estaba exquisito, las yozas (Dumplings) de verdura de escándalo y los makis ya no te lo cuento. Una apuesta segura.
