The restaurant has been operating for 41 years can't be bad especially post COVID! The owner was charming and offered the 3 of us a glass of wine and garlic bread on the house. It was a beautiful balmy evening and we sat in a table at the window to the street and the windows were wide open. It was glorious! The food was not exceptional but it had been made with love so was most enjoyable. I wouldn't travel to Melbourne just to eat here but would definitely go again if I was in the area.
The food at this restaurant was flavorless and unappetizing. I would not recommend dining here and regret not leaving after the first course. I only took a few bites before giving up, and would have preferred to eat wallpaper paste instead.
If you're in the mood for a straightforward Roman meal, this is the spot to go. I highly suggest trying the handcrafted gnocchi - it transported me back to Rome!
Was offered cheap wine for free, little did I know you only get it if you order two mains. So still paid for other drink. Was left with hair in the pizza.pasta was frozen reheated. Went to subway to eat properly was left starving.
I ordered the Spaghetti Vongole and it came with a prawn on top, which I had never seen before. The prawn was peeled but still had the head, tail, and intestine left on. I was not impressed. When I mentioned this while paying the bill, I was told that was how they served it and that it was complimentary anyway. It was not a satisfying meal and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are plenty of other restaurants on Lygon Street that are much better.
