Fonda has expanded to multiple locations now, with its original outlet located in nearby Richmond. The Glenferrie Rd location is conveniently situated and boasts a spacious and stylish interior. The cuisine is described as Mexican street food, and it is a definite improvement from typical chain restaurants serving cheesy corn chips. The dishes are wonderfully fresh and light, allowing guests to sample a variety without feeling overly full. The lunch specials are perfect for sharing, with standout dishes including tasty corn chips, flavorful enchiladas, and a refreshing green salad with sweet potato. The staff is cheerful and welcoming, creating a relaxed atmosphere for diners.

I went to this restaurant with some friends for a relaxed and casual dinner. We all tried different types of tacos, and my favorite was the shrimp taco with pineapple and guacamole. I do wish they were a bit more substantial and larger in size, so I suggest ordering additional dishes or opting for the more filling items on the menu if you're hungry. The restaurant is roomy and has trendy seating areas, making it a great spot for lunch or dinner. It's conveniently located on Glenferrie road, especially for students at Swinburne University just across the street.

Fonda offers a good option for fast and casual Mexican cuisine. It stands out in terms of quality and healthiness compared to other chain restaurants like Guzman y Gomez or Mad Mex. The atmosphere is also more pleasant than those places, although it may not be on the same level as a restaurant like Hotel Jesus. I especially like the variety of vegetarian options and healthier dishes such as the falafel burrito and pumpkin bounty bowl.

Fonda where can I start it is the best restaurant ever. My favourite meal to have is the chicken tacos. Another one of my favourites are the tortilla crisps. To finish it off the waiters are so nice

Personally, this is my favorite place to go for dinner, like if I was asked to give 1 recommendation this would certainly be what I recommend. I would advise the chicken tacos and also the tortilla chips and salsa with guacamole but they have an amazing menu, so you really could not go wrong.
