Conway Fish Trading - Melbourne

Conway Fish Trading, a well-established institution in Footscray, has been providing the freshest and highest quality seafood for over 50 years. Their Hot Fish store offers a wide selection of options including skewered garlic prawns, grilled or battered fish, mussels, fritters, burgers, and the classic fish and chips. We decided to try the Family Tackle Box, which was filled with 2 fish fillets, 3 chunky fish bites, 3 dim sims, 6 calamari strips, 3 potato cakes, and chips. The portion size was generous for only $32, and the batter on the seafood was excellent. However, we found that the chips could have been crispier. We plan on returning to try more items on the menu and will request extra crispy chips. Next door, they have a Fresh Fish store where you can buy a variety of fresh seafood, European goods, and frozen foods. You can also order these items online for delivery.

Staff was bit of an introvert and we had difficulty understanding and ordering. That said, once we received the for, we forgot about the interaction. The flake was bang for your buck delicious, chowder was okay, but wouldn't order again, and chips were spot on. I'm definitely coming here again. Have already recommended it to my mates.

We enjoyed a late lunch of fish and chips at the Conway Hot Fish Café next door. I opted for the grilled Atlantic Salmon and was very pleased with the freshness, taste, and juiciness. Impressed by this meal, we also decided to purchase some fresh seafood from Conway's Fresh Fish Market for tomorrow's lunch. I am excited to pair it with a homemade salad.

Enjoyed my calamari!!! Fish tastes really fresh and seasoned well too. We will be back for sure!

I have always been satisfied with my purchases here and the ingredients are always fresh. We are planning to make our own fish and chips this weekend.
