Bidrage med feedbackHad a quick bite after work and was really surprised by the wonderful renovation. Very clean and warm colouring with open fires and comfortable seating. A really cool bar and pool room. As for the food, excellent. Lightly battered flathead with crisp chips and a greek salad or fall off the bone pork ribs with coleslaw. A great wine and drinks list and of course it is a brewpub so a fantastic range of beers. Staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. A great find in Clifton Hill.
We were catching up with relatives and needed somewhere to meet up on a Monday (so many places are closed on a Monday) and that had an extensive menu to cater for everyone. That is how we came to try the Clifton Hill Brewpub.Various areas to this pub - the bar, the lounge, the dining area, the courtyard. The team made my family feel special and that we were welcome to sit, enjoy our meal and time together. Plenty of drink and food options. We all enjoyed our meals even though the Parma was a little dry and the rare steak ordered was more medium-well. We will return again!
Was so pleasantly surprised by the massive eating room at the rear of this pub ... so incredibly classy with beautiful decor.I had read that children under 16 were not welcome after 6pm in the main eating area and we really liked that idea ... there is plenty of space just off that area for families with children. Unfortunately some families take issue with the concept and bring children anyway ... As parents out for a rare night without our children we would have appreciate other parents respecting the rules. The staff were exceptional, warm, engaging and friendly. Very prompt and well presented. The night we heard later was very chaotic for the team, due to customers not being prompt, keeping bookings, running very late, however you would not have known that by the staff's temperament - you could see them supporting each other, and professionally getting customers needs me.We ordered an entree to serve that will certainly go down as one of our all time favourites ... It was fried haloumi with warm olives and bread, sounds so simple, but honestly the taste is so much larger than the description, we were in love from first bite and could have happily gone home right then.My husband ordered the parma, which was HUGE ... came with a gorgeous salad and chips he said were some of the best.I had the Lemon Pepper Calamari - again an extremely generous serve, with chunky chips and coleslaw. Whilst I like the calamari well enough, the crumb seemed a bit dense - I think it could do with a lighter coating.Too full for desert as the serves were extremely generous - just wanted to mention that although it's a brew pub, their spirits service was incredible - the strength was great, the size generous, very swift service and refill.Overall a beautiful venue with an extremely full menu. The place offers something for everyone and we will surely be going back to explore more of the menu
Consistency can be a fine thing. I hadn't been here for a year. It is just as good as it was a year ago. This time I had medium rare eye fillet with roasted chats and mustard infused slaw. Beautifully done the whole thing was too. The meat was superb. The sauce is chosen - mushroom - was excellent too. Not cheap at $39 but I enjoyed every mouthful. We finished with drinks at the bar. Service was terrific. There was a very competent young Irish woman leading the staff. She had it all under control even with the new waiter. All in all this was a terrific night. Bravo.
Friday Christmas ???? lunch with a friend. Friendly staff, the meals are AMAZING! Plus the range of craft beers ???? incredible. Will be back and so should you!!
