Bidrage med feedbackFirst visited CC back in the nineties. Great food. If the dish required it, the spices were evident and in abundance and the dish was balanced. Not so now after tonight's experience. The Biryani was atrocious. Bits of tandoori chicken chopped
I chanced upon this Indian restaurant as Melbourne roasted under the midday sun. I went into the plain but functional interior and ordered my favorite Indian dish, Palak Paneer, with Basmati rice and Mango Lassee - yum! This was a simple yet flavorful and exotic lunch with great value.Recommended! Will definitely drop by when I visit Melbourne again!
Decor is fairly basic, but the food has good variety, with many choices from lamb, chicken, fish and vegetarian. I chose a Thali platter for $12.50 which included the choice of two meat and one vegetarian curries, with rice and naan bread. It was quite filling and good value for a lunch time meal.
It was 11am and thought I would have an early lunch. I had the Vegetable Korma and a Mango Lassi. I wasn't impressed that the Lassi was a pre-made commercial variety from a bottle. The Korma was a small serving compared to other Indian restaurants. "There you go" subliminally double word meaning abuse of public information and use of irony wasn't appreciated when I paid. The decor is a bit sad. The walls need painting. The chairs are peeling. I won't be back.
We have been ordering from Classic Curry for about 13 years. The food has been consistently great and on occasions, fantastic! The butter chicken was our favourite dish but since becoming vegetarian our new favourite or vegetable korma. Delicious! The restaurant isn't fancy but that doesn't matter when they have home delivery!! Highly recommended :)
