Brother Nancy - Melbourne

I came here for breakfast with my son. Great coffee. Parking is easy on the street. The sourdough fruit toast was excellent. He had Avocado on toast which was pretty spectacular with regards to : the presentation, the trimmings and the taste. Friendly service. Fresh,...clean and understated decor.

I may sound like a grumpy old lady (although I hope not), but I don't understand why these fancy cafes refuse to take reservations, even for a big group. We called ahead and were told that their large table "should" be available. But when we got there, we found only two people sitting at the table. What a ridiculous waste of time.

This is one great little cafe. We are visiting Melbourne and the first test is when you walk into a neighbourhood coffee shop with all locals as an outsider friendly welcome and smiles all around. Fast and curteous service. Delicious coffee and food. Thumbs...up from us. Worth seeking out. Wish we had something like this in my neighbourhood.

Quite often call in for a coffee on my daily walk and very impressed with the friendly quick service and perfect coffee.

We were staying on Essex St in between two coffee shops - Brother Nancy and West 48. I frequented both and although West 48 has the better atmosphere, Brother Nancy has the better coffee.
