Advieh Cafe - Melbourne

This morning, I decided to have breakfast at Advieh. I have always enjoyed their food and coffee. I ordered the delicious Advieh breakfast along with a large almond milk latte. As I was finishing my latte, I felt something hit my teeth. I spat it back into the cup and discovered it was a piece of glass. I called the waiter over, who apologized and took the glass back inside. She returned, apologized again, and offered me another coffee, which I declined. My sister and I got up to leave, but she went back in to speak to the staff and ask for the manager. The owner, who was painting at the front of the shop, said he was unaware of the incident and suggested that a glass might have broken the day before. He dismissed it as an accident. I was disappointed by their attitude and lack of response. I used to enjoy dining at Advieh, but this experience has changed my opinion.

Met some family here for lunch because it was a Tuesday and Lola was closed. Pleasant space and very friendly staff. Big pots on the communal a bit annoying, if you happened to be in front of one. All had the lunch with two salads, a dip and something else added. I had the chicken shish and everyone enjoyed their meals. Then coffee, which was the best coffee I have had for a while, and something sweet. I’m sure we’ll go again...

We went for brunch mid week. Not too busy. Service was attentive, coffee reasonable (not as strong as I usually like it). I had the turkish omelette with chorizo and while I applaud the sentiment of buttered toast with every meal, it wasn't necessary (which I will remember when I take up keto next week). Didn't need the salt I stupidly put on without thinking either...just so used to omelettes not being seasoned. My bestie had the avocado toast and it was a generous serving. She enjoyed the lemon, honey and ginger iced tea very much. The surroundings are agreeable and we sat for longer than usual talking before emerging to find a ticket on the car, so be aware, and look out.

Fabulous food, very tasty and reasonably priced. Staff were very attentive and polite. NO alcohol but you won't miss it.

Always my go-to when I visit Melbourne. Great coffee, Very tasty food, friendly and helpful staff and a great feel about the place.
