Charlie's - Melbourne (VIC)

The chips and steaks at this restaurant are fantastic. The pizza is also brilliant. If you are a fan of house-cut fries, you will love the fries at Charlie's Bar. I believe they are some of the best chips in all of Melbourne.

I had a bad date at this restaurant once, but I don't blame them for it. Located on the charming Hardware Lane, they have a surprisingly large and impressive wine list. I prefer cocktails and they have a great selection, as well as the option to create a custom drink for you. I enjoy bars in basements and laneways, so this place is perfect for me. It's not fancy and I haven't tried the food, but it has a rustic charm in a city full of sleek rooftop bars (which I also enjoy).

Stumbled upon this gem whilst wandering around the city. Drinks were awesome and the vibe was great too (love the exposed brick and the old school jazz music). Not giving it 5/5 just because the service was a tad bit slow but that's really nitpicking. Will be back though!
