Bidrage med feedbackFour of us stopped by the city for lunch and we were all satisfied with the choice. The dining rooms are located on the ground floor. They offer a congenital place for any kind of expectation. We have eaten it formally, but there were also less chic guesthouse style rooms, a wonderful café and places for more liquid meals. The menu prices were reasonable and the offers were quite extensive. We had a different meal and common taste. All dishes were at least very good and some excellent. The wine offer was rich and excellent in the choice of winemakers. The best were the different desserts from the café.
The former coaching house in Meiningen is a huge building that today houses a hotel, a confectioner and two restaurants in the Kutscherstube and the post office. We have dined in the latter and it was one of the best restaurants I've ever had. The ambience was both luxurious and refined, the staff was friendly and helpful and the food it needed to meet it. There was no à la carte as such. Instead there were two menus, each with a seven course dinner and each with two options per course. You can order as many or as few courses as you wish. The restaurant chose wines to supplement the courses. We got the impression that the cook had his menus on the basis that there were seven courses involved; each course was quite small. So, next time (and it will be a next time! We go for the seven full courses. As it was, I ordered four courses while my partner had three. In addition, there was an exquisite Bonne Bouche to kick out our taste buds and we ended up with a digestion, so we do not complain! Each course was designed, executed and perfected. The wines were good enough to give us a complete review of the quality of German wines. Here's just a hint of the service. Of course we showed the labels of each wine. When I presented the wine for my main course, I noticed that the vineyard was in a place called Ahr. I asked where Ahr was, but the waitress was uncertain. A few minutes later, she presented me with a print from Wikipedia that gives details of the area. We had to leave the restaurant and got no impression that we should hurry. So, everyone's counting on this restaurant full of traces. Absolutely recommended and worth a detour.
Empfehlenswert.
